Special launch of new Swansea WW2 DVD at Swansea Museum Saturday 17 December

A new documentary capturing personal memories of one of the darkest times in Swansea’s history is to have its premiere at Swansea Museum this Saturday, 17 December.

‘Swansea and World War Two – The People’s Story’ is the latest DVD instalment of Swansea Museum’s popular World War Two documentaries and uses first hand accounts from eye witnesses to chart the city’s struggle throughout the war and during the three-night blitz of February 1941.

The launch begins at 1pm with limited copies of the DVD available for you to purchase on the day.

Films on the Big Screen during the Summer Holidays

Three children's (and adults sssssshhh) classic films will be show on the Big Screen in Castle Square, Swansea.

Toy Story 3, High School Musical 3 and The Sound of Music will be shown on various dates throughout August.  So bring a packed lunch, snuggle up on a deckchair and watch your favourite film in the unique surroundings.

Les Miserables starts in Swansea tomorrow

Dean Verbeck's school edition of Les Miserables starts in Penyrheol Theatre on Wednesday 23 March and continues through to Saturday 26 March.

Time for High School Musical

High School Musical is back at Penyrheol Theatrewith one the UK’s top young theatre groups, the Mark Jermin Stage School, presenting their version of this modern day Disney classic.

Originating from the hit movie and packed full of catchy songs and big dance numbers, this show is certain to deliver that feel-good factor to all the family.

‘The Edge of Love’ Film Premieres in Swansea

On Friday 20 June Swansea will be rolling out the red carpet for the Welsh premiere of John Maybury’s powerful love story The Edge of Love, starring Matthew Rhys, Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller and Cillian Murphy, at VUE cinema York Street.

Matthew Rhys will also officially open the exclusive Edge of Love exhibition at the city's Dylan Thomas Centre that features costumes, storyboards, graphics and other items from the movie.

So, if movies are of a particular interest to you, then why not head down to the Dylan Thomas Centre and be a part of this fascinating exhibition, and then pop over the road to actually VUE the Edge of Love movie.
