Come along to our first Candlelight concert of the year at the Brangwyn Hall on Sunday. Alwyn Humphreys will conduct and introduce music written by composers for which 2011 is an important year.
Works by Liszt are among those that feature in this magical candle-lit setting with soprano Ros Evans and the Chamber Orchestra of Wales.

It's going to be a very busy month in Swansea if you are interested the cultural side. Swansea Museum have the Isle of Wight Festival Exhibition, along with the Home Textile Exhibition and the Local History book Fair.
The National Waterfront Museum will be hosting 'Tarnished Earth: an exhibition of devastating power' which tells the story of one of the world's biggest ecological disasters.
For fans of legendary poet, Dylan Thomas, the Dylan Thomas Festival returns for the 14th year which features the talents of Sarah Waters, Simon Armitage and Pete Brown, amongst others.
Before the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery closes on 30 October, there will be a series of free workshops, free art events and live bands. While there are also expert workshops taking place at the West Glamorgan Archives.

Have a look at the film that ITV Wales made about Following the Flame Olympic and Paralympic exhibition at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea.
The ITV crew was at the launch yesterday, along with the Olympians and Paralympians featured in the exhibition and many of their friends and family members.
Following the Flame is open to the public every day until 10 July, 10.00am – 4.30pm and entry is free.

A free exhibition which provides the history of Welsh athletes through the Olympic and Paralympic games starts this Sunday 12 June in the Brangwyn Hall.
Head on down to the Following the Flame exhibition between 10am - 4.30pm to view many exciting events and displays such as Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson's chair, olympic medals and interviews with Welsh Olympians and Paralympians.
If you are a proud Welshman or woman or have a keen interest in the Olmpics and Paralympics, or just want to get excited for next years 2012 Olmpics then this exhibition is definitely for you.

We are celebrating St David's Day in a big way in Swansea! There are still some tickets left for the Saint David's Day concert "Saint, Songs & Celebration" at the Brangwyn Hall.
Many of the restaurants in Swansea are putting on special St David's Day menu's with traditional Welsh produce - check out which restaurants are taking part...
There is also a Welsh fun and food day at Gower Heritage Centre and an Intergeneration event at Gendros Community Centre.

Saint David's Week in Swansea kicks off this weekend, with a whole host of fun events and activities.
If you are a music lover then there are only a handful of tickets available for the St David's concert featuring Only Men Aloud and Morriston Orpheus Choir, plus the final of the Welsh Musical Theatre Young Singer of the Year.
Sport fanatics are in for a treat as there is a Welsh celebration at the Swans v Leeds football match, whilst the Italy v Wales 6 nations rugby is live on the big screen.

We’re very happy to announce that Only Men Aloud and Morriston Orpheus Choir will be featuring in a special Saint David’s Week celebration concert at 7.30pm on 26 February 2011 in the Brangwyn Hall.
The concert marks the start of Saint David’s Week which runs from 26 February – 6 March in Swansea. Lots of great events are planned to celebrate Wales’ patron saint, including a twmpath which is a Welsh style barn dance – great fun for all the family!

The new Brangwyn Hall brochure will be out later this week, and to kick-start February's events Viktoria Mullova will be playing with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales on 4 Feb, 7pm.
Viktoria has gained a reputation for her authoritative performances of the great violin concertos. This performance of Beethoven's Violin Concerto will be one to remember, and tickets priced £12 - £15 are available from the Grand Theatre Box Office on 01792 475715.

Handel's Messiah with Gower Chorale is taking place at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea tomorrow Friday 14 January at 7.30pm.
The performance was postponed from December due to the snow and all previously purchased tickets will be valid.
