Offsite activities organised by the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery continue this Friday at 1pm in the YMCA Swansea. Join artist Owen Griffiths as he discusses his ongoing allotment project ‘Vetch Veg’.
Since September, Owen has been working with local people to maintain a community run vegetable garden. The garden has been very positive for the local area and over 100 raised beds have been built, with plans to keep chicken and bees at the historic site.
You are all cordially invited to the closing party of the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery on Saturday 22 October between 11am - 7pm.
The day will be packed full of entertainment and activities for you to enjoy, including workshops, party bunting, screenings, talks and live music. All events are free plus there will be refreshments available between 5pm - 7pm.

It's going to be a very busy month in Swansea if you are interested the cultural side. Swansea Museum have the Isle of Wight Festival Exhibition, along with the Home Textile Exhibition and the Local History book Fair.
The National Waterfront Museum will be hosting 'Tarnished Earth: an exhibition of devastating power' which tells the story of one of the world's biggest ecological disasters.
For fans of legendary poet, Dylan Thomas, the Dylan Thomas Festival returns for the 14th year which features the talents of Sarah Waters, Simon Armitage and Pete Brown, amongst others.
Before the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery closes on 30 October, there will be a series of free workshops, free art events and live bands. While there are also expert workshops taking place at the West Glamorgan Archives.
Discover Swansea this October...
Two new exhibitions are being launched at the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery tomorrow. "I know something about love" brings together internationally recognised artisits Yang Fudong, Shirin Neshat and Christodoulos Panayiotou to investigate the theme of love in different times and cultures.
While Laura Ford's "Beast and Other Works" offer alluring, tactile objects made out of various textile materials.
Both exhibitions run from 17 June - 4 September and entry is completely free.
There are plenty of spooky and fun events and activities taking place throughout Swansea this Halloween, so if you are wondering where to take the kids, then here are a few ideas for you...

Prom voucher booklet – available from Civic Centre and Swansea will be welcoming award winning author Niall Griffiths to the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery next friday (16 April).
Griffiths, who has been considered the Welsh 'Irvine Welsh', will be discussing his back catalogue of work and talking about his more recent projects.
Every friday, the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery present free sessions of either music, art or talks - events coming up include a live performance by Joan Jones tomorrow, 5 March. Paul Jeff & Tom Pope will be discussing the themes surrounding Tom's exhibition, In Conversation on friday 12 March, while singer/songwriter Jonathan Powell will be performing songs from his debut album on 19 March.
The events are free, so you can just turn up - please come early as spaces are limited and on a first come, first serve basis.
Meinir Gwilym will be performing live this Thursday, 25 February in the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery. The FREE, one-off gig in this unique setting, is part of the St David's Week celebrations in Swansea.
Get there early for a 6.30pm start, as there is limited space and will be based on a first come, first serve basis.
