From there why not experience the magnificent views of Swansea on the Big Wheel, and then head on inside to warm yourself up with a nice glass of mulled wine - adults only of course!

If that doesn't get you in the Christmas spirit, then the Oxford Street Christmas Market starts tomorrow!

Tickets for Penyrheol Theatre's Christmas pantomime, Cinderella, are now available to book online.  The panto takes place between January 14-23, so make sure you get to see the magical tale by booking early!

Iceskating demo tonight at Waterfront Winterland

Don't miss a fabulous ice skating demonstration by former Welsh champ Sarah Perrott tonight at Waterfront Winterland.  

Sarah will be dancing on the main Admiral rink at 6.45 to All That Jazz.

 Unfortunately Chuck Berry has postponed his concert until March and we're just waiting for the dates to be confirmed. 

Your original tickets will be valid for the new dates but if you'd like a refund then please contact the place that you bought them.

Penlan Leisure Centre will reopen at 12 noon

Penlan Leisure Centre will reopen today (20 November 09) at midday.

All facilities at the leisure centre will be available apart from the sports hall, so fitness classes usually inthe sports hall will be relocated to the school's gym where possible until further notice.

Details of leisure centre class cancellations and relocations will be made available either on www.activeswansea.com or you can ring 01792 588079.

Storm causes havoc at Penlan Leisure Centre

Penlan Leisure Centre is closed until further notice due to storm damage to the roof (Wednesday 18 November).

Christmas parade was huge success!

Well, Santa has been and gone, but don't worry....he will be back again very soon.  We all enjoyed the Christmas Parade and lights switch on.

Santa Claus is coming to town....this Sunday!

The countdown to Christmas officially starts this Sunday, as Father Christmas himself will be joining many decorated floats for the Christmas parade and lights switch on.

Furthermore, this Sunday also welcomes the opening of Waterfront Winterland.  The Admiral rink will once again be there, and this year will be joined by Rocky's rink for children - book your ice skating tickets here!

Commonwealth baton comes to Swansea

In case you're wondering what's happening along the Kingsway from the Guildhall tomorrow (10 Nov), the Commonwealth Games baton is arriving in Swansea.

It'll be carried by four schools to Castle Square where the Lord Mayor will meet it to pass on the Queen's message and raise awareness of the 2010 Games.

 The BBC Big Screen will be showing footage of well know Welsh athletes who have performed at the Commonwealth Games in the past and there'll be Dragon Sports for children to try out.

Wales vs NZ on big screen

If you're in town on Saturday, you'll be able to see the Wales v NZ game on the big screen in Castle Square - it starts at 5.15pm.  Enjoy!

P!nk to play in Swansea

Pink has announced that she'll play the Liberty Stadium on 23 June as part of her Funhouse Carnival Tour 2010!

It should be an amazing concert as it's one of only six stadium gigs in the UK that Pink will be playing next year.

Tickets are £45 and are available from Monday 9 November at 10am from the Liberty Stadium in person or by ringing 0870 400 004.

Rock 'n' Roll legend to grace the stage at the Brangwyn Hall

That's right, Chuck Berry himself will be performing at the Brangwyn Hall on Wednesday 2 December.  The rock 'n' roll icon will be performing some of his greatest hits, which include "Johnny B. Goode", "Maybellene", "Sweet little Sixteen" and "Roll over Beethoven" with his American Band.

Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to see the man who could play the guitar just like ringing a bell.

UPDATE - 19 Nov - we've just heard that this concert is postponed until March 2010.

Mini Viva to perform at fireworks

Come down to Sparks in the Dark this Thursday 5 November for a great evening of entertainment including fire performers and a circus skills workshop! 

Mini Viva will be performing their new single plus their top 10 hit 'Left My Heart in Tokyo' then there'll be a fabulous display of fireworks to round off the evening.  The gates open at 5.30pm with the display at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available at the gate - £5 adult, £4 concession and £2.50 PTL.
