Join this year's Christmas Parade

Yes, I know.  It's a little early to be thinking about Christmas, but if shops can start putting their Christmas cards and selection boxes out, then why not?

Anyway, the Christmas Paradeand light switch on is taking place on Sunday 16th November this year, and the search is on for community groups to take part in decorating the floats.  You could be in with a chance of winning a £1000 cash prize.

Admiral win the 2008 mascot race

Congratulations to Admiral who won the Admiral Swansea Bay 10K mascot race on Sunday.

A particular mention should be made about the valiant effort made by The Wave's Dylan the Dog - shall we say he was hampered by a wardrobe malfunction!

Admiral Swansea Bay 10k race results are available now

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the highly successful Admiral Swansea Bay 10k Race yesterday.  As promised, the provisional race results are now available online on swanseabay10k.com. 

Whether you competed in the 10k, 5k, 3k, 1k or wheelchair events, they are all available now.  These are the provisional results, so please check back for any changes.

Show your support at the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k

With thousands of runners competing in Sunday's Admiral Swansea Bay 10k, why not show your support and cheer them all to the finish line? 

The junior races kick off the special day at 11am, with the main race starting at 1pm, which will include some of the best runners in the world.

For a bit of fun and laughter, stick around and witness the 'Mascot Metres' race, which will include Arnie the Active Swansea Aardvark, the Admiral and Dame Admiral, amongst others.

Looking to keep the children active this Autumn?

From trampolining at Bishopston to martial arts at Cefn Hengoed, the six Active Swansea centres will have plenty to keep the youngsters fit, healthy and happy this Autumn.

Swimming lessons are a great way to introduce children to other exciting activities such as snorkelling, life-saving and water polo, building strength and endurance, while on dry land gymnastics will concentrate on flexibility, agility and movement.

New Brangwyn Hall events

The Brangwyn Hall has just unveiled its latest line up of concerts and performances that will take us up to Christmas and into the New Year.

Some favourites are back to guarantee a good night out, such as the candlelight series and the ever popular ‘Messiah’, plus we have some spectacular performances which are part of this year's Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts – celebrating its 60th birthday this year.

Talk at the Glynn Vivian

Come to the free Glynn Vivian gallery event on Friday 5th September, which is an illustrated talk on the painter Gwen John at 1pm.

Tim Batchelor, Assistant Curator at Tate Britain since 1999 will be giving the lecture.  In 2005 he was part of the team that curated the Gwen and Augustus John exhibition which travelled to the National Museum Wales, Cardiff.
